Chamber of Mining Engineers – Istanbul Branch
Founded in 1954, Chamber of Mining Engineers is a professional organization with the nature of a public institution, defined in Article 135 of the Constitution. It is one of the founding chambers of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects – TMMOB.
Defending the professional rights of mining engineers, following scientific and technical developments in the mining sector, contributing to the sector and mining policies, and organizing events for the professional development of engineers are among the main duties of Chamber of Mining Engineers.
Chamber of Mining Engineers has been serving as a locomotive in the scientific and technical field with the Symposiums and Congresses it has organized for the mining sector in Türkiye for more than 50 years. He has conducted scientific and technical events, including 38 International Mining Congresses and Exhibitions of Türkiye, 10 International Drilling and Blasting Symposiums, 22 International Coal Congresses of Türkiye, 5 International Underground Excavations Symposiums and various workshops and courses.
Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Mining Engineering Department
Mining Engineering Department, which has been operating within Engineering Faculty since 1991, consists of Mining, Mining Mechanization and Technology, and Mineral Processing Divisions. The department made a big breakthrough in the 2000s by using contemporary, modern and world-class laboratory facilities.
Since its establishment, Mining Engineering Department, which has reduced its formal education quota to the level of competitors in developed countries since 1999, has aimed to educate department students in a more practice-oriented manner in accordance with our country and world standards, with its young academic staff and education plan, curriculum and well-equipped laboratories suitable for today's conditions. The department continues its activities with a high momentum despite its dedication. In addition, the department library and computer facilities are constantly being improved in order to continue education and training activities in line with today's conditions.
